We fix, change, and upgrade the locks on your apartment, townhouse, or co-op door, and we come to you.
What do you do for homes?
Most of our home work is simple and practical. We open doors when you are locked out, rekey locks when you move in, replace worn deadbolts, and add a second lock to a door that only has one. We also work on the older mortise locks you find in pre-war buildings and townhouses around Gramercy.
When people call us for this
- You just moved into a new apartment and want new keys.
- Your deadbolt sticks or needs a wiggle to turn.
- You want a stronger lock on your front door.
- Your townhouse has an old mortise lock that stopped working right.
- You lost your keys and want the old ones to stop working.
Do I need a new lock or just new keys?
If your lock still works well, a rekey is usually enough. You keep the lock, we change the pins inside, and you get new keys. If the lock is worn, loose, or broken, we replace it. We tell you which one makes sense before we start.
How do I get a quote?
Call us, or text a photo of the lock and the edge of the door. We tell you what it needs and give you a written quote before any work starts.
Frequently asked
Do you work on co-op and condo doors?
Yes. If your building has rules about door hardware, tell us and we work within them.
Can you match my new lock to my other keys?
Often, yes. If the locks share a keyway, we can set them up to work with one key.
